There are many cases where you cannot log in to Gate.io, or you have forgotten your password. Gate.io also has an asset password, so there are many cases of confusion and mistakes. The article summarizes what kind of solution there is when you can not log in.

I don’t know my login password
If you do not know your Gate.io login password, you will not be able to log in. In this case, let’s first transition from the home to the login screen. On the login screen, click “Forgot your password?” at the bottom right of the password entry field.

A reset password will be reissued to the registered email address or phone number, so you can reset the password. An email will be sent from Gate.io to the email address you entered, so enter the 6-digit code contained in the email. After entering the code, you will be taken to the new password entry screen. You have successfully reset your login password.

I don’t know my registered email address or phone number
If you do not know your registered email address or phone number, there is nothing you can do. In this case, you will have to create a new account with a new email address and a new phone number. All steps will be redone from 1, so please refer to the following article.
I don’t know two-factor authentication
Most of our users have two-factor authentication. The following cases are possible for two-factor authentication.
Authorization code expired
The Google Authenticator authentication code is refreshed every 30 seconds. If more than 30 seconds have passed since the code was displayed, the code will become invalid and you will not be able to log in. Enter Gate.io in 30 seconds or less.
I don’t know if it’s a model change or a malfunction
If you don’t know the 2-step verification code when changing models or deleting the app, there is nothing you can do. In this case, the only solution is to contact the support center and have them deal with it. The support center is open 24/7, so please feel free to contact us.
I don’t know my asset password
In Gate.io, the password required for operations (withdrawal, remittance) is the asset password. If you do not know the fund password, please log in from the following URL. Enter “Username”, “Email Address” and “Login Password” on the application screen and click “Next”. You will receive a reset email, so click the link in the email to set a new password and you’re done.
